Reviews

A wrapper for the store’s review app. The section itself renders very little: a centred heading, and below it a white card, centred and inset, sitting on a tinted background. The reviews themselves come from an app block dropped inside that card.

On the product page this is where the Okendo reviews widget lives. The section exists so the widget sits on brand-coloured ground with the right heading and spacing, rather than dumped straight onto the page.

Settings

Setting	What it does
Section ID	Optional anchor, so you can link to this section with #your-id. If left empty the section still gets an automatic ID — but it’s a generated one, not something you can link to reliably, so set this if you want a jump link to the reviews.
Background	A solid colour or gradient behind the section. Defaults to a pale sky blue (#EAF6FE). To blend into the next section, match this gradient’s last colour to that section’s first.
Padding - Mobile — Top / Bottom	0–10 rem, 0.5 steps. Default 3 / 3.
Padding - Tablet — Top / Bottom	0–10 rem, 0.5 steps. Default 4 / 4.
Padding - Desktop — Top / Bottom	0–10 rem, 0.5 steps. Default 7.5 / 7.5.

Note that the white card is not optional and has no settings — it’s always white, always full width on mobile, and narrows to ten of twelve columns from extra-large screens up.

Blocks

One fixed block:

• Title — the heading above the card. Forced to centre alignment on all screen sizes; the alignment settings on the block have no effect here. On the product page it’s set to “Reviews” at heading level 2.

Then app blocks:

• App blocks — any app block your review provider offers. On the product page this is the Okendo Reviews Widget, added through Add block → Apps in the customizer.

The section accepts only app blocks — you can’t add Title, Rich text or Button blocks inside the card.

A store-wide setting can blank out the widget

There’s a theme setting, Theme settings → Product pages → Show reviews preview, that switches this section over to a placeholder snippet instead of rendering the app blocks. That snippet is currently an empty stub, so turning the setting on makes the reviews card render as an empty white box across the whole store.

Leave it off (which is the default) unless someone has wired a preview integration into it.

The reviews come from the app, not the theme

Star ratings, review text, photos, sorting and the “Write a review” flow are all Okendo’s, configured in the Okendo admin — not here. If reviews are missing or formatted wrong, that’s an Okendo setting; if the spacing or background colour is wrong, that’s this section.

Tips

• Set the Section ID if anything links to reviews. Star ratings elsewhere on the product page often link down to this section — that link needs a stable anchor like reviews.
• Match the background to the section above it. The default pale blue is chosen to pair with the sections around it on the product page. If you move this section, check the seam with whatever now sits above it.
• Don’t add padding to compensate for the widget’s own spacing. Okendo’s widget brings its own internal padding; the card already adds a generous inset. Stacking more on top leaves a lot of white nothing.
• The card is white on purpose. It’s what makes the reviews readable against the tinted background. Setting the section background to white as well removes the card entirely, visually.
