Related Articles
A heading and a list of underlined links at the bottom of the buy column — “Related Articles”, then a few blog posts or pages worth reading about the product.
The links come from metafields on the product, not from the customizer. Only the heading is editable here.
Add it inside Product Main, at the end of the buy column.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Section Title | The heading above the list. Defaults to “Related Articles”. Clear it to show the links with no heading. |
Where the links come from
Section titled “Where the links come from”Two metafields on the product, both lists:
| Metafield | Type | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
custom.related_articles |
List of blog articles | Blog posts to link to. |
custom.related_pages |
List of pages | Pages to link to. |
You can populate one, the other, or both. The block shows articles first, then pages, each in the order the metafield lists them. Each link uses the article’s or page’s own title — there’s no way to relabel a link here.
- Three to five links is the sweet spot. The list has no cap and no truncation, so a long metafield produces a long list at the bottom of the buy column.
- Order the metafield deliberately. The list renders in metafield order, so put the most useful link first. There is nothing to reorder in the customizer.
- Watch for unpublished targets. A link to an unpublished article or page still renders and leads to a 404 for customers. Unpublishing content means checking which products link to it.
- Give the links useful titles. The link text is the article or page title verbatim. “Migraine triggers explained” reads far better in this list than “Blog post 4”.
- Consider a different heading per product. The heading is a per-block setting, so a product template used for one product can carry copy specific to it.
