Footer Social Icon

A single social media icon. Used inside Footer Brand — add one per account.

The icon is picked from a fixed list of platform marks built into the theme, so there’s nothing to upload. In the footer it renders as a light green rounded square with a dark glyph.

Settings

Setting	What it does
Title	The platform’s name — “Instagram”, “Facebook”. Not shown on screen; it’s what a screen reader announces. Defaults to “Social Link”.
Icon	Which mark to show. Choose from None, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Substack, X (Twitter) or LinkedIn.
Link	The URL of the account. Required — see below.

Where it’s used

Nested inside Footer Brand in the Footer.

No link means no icon

The block renders nothing at all when Link is empty — not a greyed-out icon, nothing. If an icon has vanished from the footer, an empty Link is almost always why.

Always fill in the Title

The icon is a picture with no text next to it, so Title is the only thing a screen reader has to go on. Leaving it at the default means someone hears “Social Link” four times in a row instead of the platform names.

External links open in a new tab

Any link starting with http opens in a new tab automatically, with the right security attributes. You don’t need to configure that.
