Footer
The dark green band at the bottom of every page. It’s made up of five distinct areas stacked in order: a bright yellow newsletter card, then a row with the logo and contact details on the left and four menu columns to the right, then the medical disclaimers, and finally the legal links and copyright line.
The footer has no settings of its own — every word, link and image in it lives on a block. That’s deliberate: it means the same footer file serves the whole site while you edit each area independently.
How to edit it
Section titled “How to edit it”The footer isn’t part of any page template, so you won’t find it by opening the homepage and scrolling the section list. In the theme customizer, open the Footer group in the left-hand panel — it appears below the template’s sections on every page, and editing it there changes it everywhere at once.
Inside that group you’ll find the Footer section, and inside that the blocks described below.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”None. The Footer section exposes no settings in the customizer — no padding, no background, no section ID. The colours (deep green background, white text) and spacing are fixed by the design.
Blocks
Section titled “Blocks”Five of the six block types are fixed — they’re always present, always in the same place, and can’t be removed or reordered. Only the menu columns are repeatable.
| Block | Where it appears | Repeatable? |
|---|---|---|
| Footer Signup | The yellow card at the very top | Fixed, one only |
| Footer Brand | Left of the main row — logo, address, social | Fixed, one only |
| Footer Nav Column | The menu columns to the right | Yes — four by default |
| Footer Disclaimers | Below the row, full width | Fixed, one only |
| Legal | The bottom line | Fixed, one only |
Footer Signup
Section titled “Footer Signup”The newsletter card. Submits to Klaviyo and only Klaviyo — it does not create Shopify customers, and there’s no Shopify fallback.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Heading | The card’s heading. Default “Join our newsletter”. |
| Email placeholder | Grey text inside the empty email field. Default “Your email address”. |
| Button label | Default “Subscribe”. |
| Success message | Shown after a successful signup. Default “Thanks for subscribing!”. |
| Error message | Shown when the submission fails. Default “Something went wrong. Please try again.” |
| Invalid email message | Shown when the address doesn’t look like an email. Default “Please enter a valid email address.” |
| Klaviyo form ID | Required. Found in Klaviyo under Sign-up forms — the short code at the end of the form’s URL, e.g. TPTBv2. |
Nested inside it:
- Signup Article — repeatable. Two by default (“Early Sale Alerts” and “News & Insights”). Each has a Title and a Text blurb, and they sit to the right of the form on desktop. They’re hidden on mobile.
Footer Brand
Section titled “Footer Brand”Logo, contact details and social links.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Logo | Leave blank to use the MigreLief wordmark, which is already white and sized correctly. Only upload one if you need a different mark. |
| Address | Multi-line. Line breaks are preserved as typed. |
| Phone | Rendered as a tap-to-call link. Spaces, dashes and brackets are stripped from the dialled number, so you can format it however reads best. |
| Rendered as a mailto link. |
Nested inside it:
- Footer Social Icon — repeatable. Four by default (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X). Each has a Title (the platform name, used by screen readers), an Icon picked from a fixed list — YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Substack, X, LinkedIn — and a Link.
Footer Nav Column
Section titled “Footer Nav Column”One menu column. This is the only repeatable block in the footer — add or remove columns and reorder them by dragging.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Menu | The navigation menu to render, chosen from the store’s menus. |
| Title | The column heading. Defaults to the menu’s own title if left empty. |
The theme ships with four: Shop, Learn, Support and For Professionals.
A column with neither a menu nor a title renders nothing at all.
Footer Disclaimers
Section titled “Footer Disclaimers”The two medical/regulatory notices below the menu row.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Disclaimer | Rich text. The plain paragraph on the left — the “not a substitute for professional medical advice” notice. |
| Boxed disclaimer | Rich text. Shown in an outlined box beside the disclaimer — the FDA statement. |
They sit side by side on desktop and stack on mobile. Empty either one and it disappears; empty both and the whole block does.
The bottom line — policy links and copyright.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Legal Menu | The menu of policy links (privacy, terms, accessibility, and so on). |
| Copyright Text | Rich text. Type {year} anywhere and it’s replaced with the current year. |
| Auto-replace year | On by default. Turn it off and {year} prints literally, as those four characters. |
On desktop the links sit left and the copyright right; on mobile both centre, with the copyright line above the links.
- Update menus in Shopify’s navigation admin, not here. The footer blocks only choose which menu to show. Adding or reordering links happens under Content → Menus.
- Update the copyright year by doing nothing. Leave
{year}in the text and Auto-replace year on. It rolls over on 1 January by itself. - Test the newsletter after every Klaviyo change. It’s the one part of the footer that can look perfect and still be broken.
- Keep the Signup Article blurbs to two short sentences. They’re mobile- hidden and desktop-narrow, so anything longer runs to five or six lines against the form.
- Don’t put the address in a single line. The Address field keeps line breaks, and a one-line address next to a phone number and email reads as a run-on.
- Check the mobile order. Mobile deliberately shows the menu accordions above the logo and contact block — that’s the design, not a bug.
