Accordion

A list of collapsible rows — the usual pattern for FAQs, supplement facts, ingredients and shipping details. Rows are divided by a hairline rule.

There are two ways to fill it, and they’re mutually exclusive.

By hand. Leave both metaobject settings empty and add Accordion Item blocks inside this one. Content lives with this block and applies only here.

From metaobjects. Point the block at an Accordion Group or a list of Accordion Items and it pulls its content from Shopify’s Content › Metaobjects. Content is shared, so editing an entry updates every accordion that references it.

On a product page, the block also falls back to the product’s own accordion metafield when it’s set, before showing nested blocks.

Setting What it does
Accordion Groups Pick one or more Accordion Group metaobjects. Each group brings its own set of rows.
Accordions Pick individual Accordion Item metaobjects, for when you want specific rows rather than a whole group.
Block ID Optional anchor ID, for linking directly to the accordion.

Only Accordion Item blocks. A new Accordion starts with three of them. An Accordion Item can’t be added on its own — it has to go inside an Accordion.

  • Use metaobjects for anything repeated across products — shipping policy, returns, the standard supplement disclaimer. One edit updates every page.
  • Use nested blocks for one-off content specific to a single section.
  • Front-load the answer. The first sentence of each row should answer the question outright. Accordion content is one of the things AI search engines quote most often, and it’s quoted from the top.
